Community Development Coordinator

The Union of Brunel Students (UBS) is at the centre of a thriving student community.  We provide services and facilities to support and engage a diverse and vibrant membership.

Following a successful funding bid to the London Borough of Hillingdon, we are now in the exciting position to recruit to the role of Community Development Coordinator, who will lead on the creation and delivery of our community engagement strategy through an initial three year programme. The project aims to bring together students and local stakeholders, working towards an inclusive and positive community in which students learn to contribute to their local society, and local residents recognise the positive impact of our students.

The Community Development Coordinator will work to empower, inform and develop our students through effective volunteer based projects, and enhance the reputation and profile of Brunel students, ensuring our contributions are recognised throughout the Borough.

You will be an enthusiastic self-starter with the ability to build and maintain effective networks, and deal appropriately with people at all levels. We are looking for someone with a clear understanding of the challenges and potential opportunities student residents are presented with in their local community and an ability to drive change in both actions and perceptions - resulting in a positive relationship with local non-student residents.

You will have strong organisational and interpersonal skills, combined with professionalism, confidence and personal credibility.

Should you wish to discuss these roles further, please contact Richard Walker, Director of Membership Engagement on 01895 269269.

Applications close Thursday 23rd May. For more information, see the application pack.
