Development and Progress

Beginners start as a white belt and each subsequent grade has two levels, a lower and upper level. White belt is followed by yellow, green, blue, brown then black belt.
Although obtaining belts should not be the prime motivation to continue training, we believe self development is more important than an external show of progress, if you train consistently, with a good attitude and reach the required standard you will be invited to undertake the next grading examination.
Grading examinations are held every 3 months or so. At certain times of each term, we will pay special attention towards preparing students for the grading examinations.
Those who progress to black belt rank may then be eligible for Assistant Instructors' and Instructors' qualification courses. Upon qualification, you will be entitled to teach Nam-Pai-Chuan under the centre licensing agreements that exist for the control of proper standards and the promotion of the Art.
Gradings are held at the University of London Union, Malet Street, London WC1E 3HY. Gradings place in March, June, September and December. Black belt gradings take place at the March and September gradings.
