The Spring elections are the elections in which we elect; the Student Officers, Standing Committee Chairs, Executive Committee and Chair of Student Assembly. We have elections to ensure that those people representing the views of students are the people you as students feel best represent you.

Chair of Student Assembly

The Chair is responsible for leading Assembly meetings, and ensuring everyone in attendance has an opportunity to be heard with in the meeting. They are also responsible for ensuring that the meetings run on time, and that a fair and balanced debate takes place on all items up for discussion. The chair, along with: the President and the Vice-Chair, is responsible for setting the order of motions to be discussed.

Black & Ethnic Minorities Officer

The Black and Ethnic Minorities Officer represents all students that self-define as BME, they are there to represent you, campaign for improved access and facilities and organise events to promote BME culture. This role is voluntary and can be delivered around your studies. To stand for this post you must self-define as a member of the BaME community.

The Disabled Students Officer represents all students with a disability. They campaign for better facilities and access, along with running events to bring students together and help them become more employable. Environment and Ethics Officer

The Union is committed to a strong and wide reaching Environmental Strategy, overseen and driven forward by this Officer, relating directly to the Green Impact infrastructure. The Environmental and Ethics Officer works with staff, officers, students and the University to ensure the strategy is developed and followed. EU Students Officer

With the effect that leaving the EU will have on our EU Students being largely unknown, the Union have introduced this new Officer role to the Executive Committee. This role will coordinate the representation of our EU members at a campus-wide, local and national level. You will also be responsible for raising awareness of issues affecting EU students, ensuring that their views and opinions are reflected in all areas of Union and University activity.

The LGBT Plus Officer represents all students that are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Plus. They ensure that the student voice is heard and campaign for better facilities and access. They also run events to bring the LGBT community together. This role is voluntary and can be delivered alongside studies. President

The President leads on the Union's engagement with the University, and external bodies and is often the first contact. They will be expected to be the public voice of Brunel students, and take up their seat on several high level University committees including Senate and University Council. They also chair the Trustee Board and Cabinet. In addition the President is responsible for all Community based campaigns.

The VP Student Activities primary focus is on Union's support of co-curricular activity through Clubs, Societies, and other Union structured opportunities. NUS Delegate Womans Place

The Union is a member of the National Union of Students (NUS), as part of this we have a say in the campaigns and direction of the NUS. In order to ensure Brunel Students have their voice heard we send delegates to the NUS National Conference.   Following the elections held in October we still have one delegate space available for a representative that either identifies as a woman or non-binary.
