LOCAL ELECTION – 3rd May 2018

The deadline to register to vote is the 17th April 2018

In local government elections you are voting for between one and three councillors to represent your ward on the local council. There are 388 local councils in England and about 20,000 councillors.

If you are a student, you may be able to register to vote at both your home and term-time addresses. If your home and university addresses are in two different local authority areas, you can vote in local elections in both.

Why Vote?

  • Voting gives you the power to create change
  • Voting gets your representatives working for you
  • The choices you make matter!
  • This election decides who is in power for the next 5 years
  • Our ancestors fought, bled and died to give us the right to vote
