How and where do i vote?
Voting will be taking place in person, between 10am-5pm, on the following dates:
- Tuesday 5th March 2024
- Wednesday 6th March 2024
Voting will take place in The Venue in the Hamilton Centre. Entrance to the space will be via the Crank Gardens doors - but it will be well signposted from the main concourse so just follow the signs!
Ballot stations will be set up to ensure that you are casting your vote in private and no one else will know who you have voted for.
Are there any voting rules?
Yes. In order to ensure elections are free and fair, we have a number of rules in place:
- You will need to bring your student ID card with you.
- Be prepared, know who you are voting for! You can only come to vote at a ballot station on ONE occasion. A copy of each candidate’s manifesto will be available at ballot stations.
- Allow time to queue, only 8 students in the ballot area at any one time.
- No phones (they must stay in your bag/pocket).
- No talking unless you are asking staff a question.
- Do not touch the keyboards.
- No lists, this includes on paper, on hands etc.
- No pictures in the ballot area.
If any of these rules are not followed you will be asked to leave and disciplinary action may be taken against you.
The queue to vote will close at 4.45pm so make sure to get there early to ensure you have a chance to cast your vote!
