Madhoo Preetha Damaraju

“Our Unity Is Our Strength & Diversity Is Our Power” My name is Madhoo Preetha Damaraju, and I have a master's in management at our university.

This year, I'm running for Gender Diversity and Inclusion Officer because there is a critical need to create inclusive venues and environments where all people from diverse backgrounds may speak up and openly share their experiences.

I'll work to ensure that all are equally represented in the university. In addition to empowering everyone to assume leadership positions, my goal is to inform students about the significant contributions that women in positions of authority, particularly at our university, can make.

In my many student union duties, I frequently hear about people from gender diverse backgrounds who are made to feel uncomfortable by harassment within the campus, so I believe that people from gender-diverse backgrounds should feel safe in our healthy academic environment.

I will endeavour to maintain the education and awareness in our student bars so that sexual harassment is addressed tactfully and successfully. I will work on those campaigns that empower the community.

I'll work with the staff, university security & local police to make them more approachable for students who want to report crimes, threats and harassment. I'll do everything I can to put in place a structure that allows students to report incidents confidently.

I plan to organise campaigns to inform students about the viability of gender equality, the significance of treating gender-diverse people, and how this affects our larger society.

For the talents and ideas of many people to be heard and used, I want to encourage a diverse community to discover their voice and ensure it will be heard. I want to work unbiasedly with everyone at the university to give them the confidence to voice their opinions and proposals to the student union.
