Wildlife and Environmental Conservation

A society for the environmentally conscious, a place to learn effective ways to reduce waste, monitor the wildlife around campus and discuss the environment.

BWECS is a community centered around wildlife and conservation. We get involved in various projects on campus and the local area, such as wildlife monitoring and hands-on conservation. Join us to learn about ways to decrease waste, decrease your impact on the environment and find out more about wildlife on campus and in Uxbridge! Previously we have hosted activities such as bat monitoring, hedgehog tracking and The Big Brunel Clean Up (campus wide litter picking). We have regular social events just to meet up and do whatever, whether that is going for a meal, to the pub or any other event. Most weeks we have an excursion to the near by London Wildlife Trust site which we look after, where we do the hands-on conservation. Last year we had a very successful documentary showing - Plastic Ocean, which attracted interest from non students as well as students. Anyone from the Uni is welcome to join! Find us at the Freshers Fayre in September!
