ABOUT US

What is Futsal?

Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced form of the game that originates in South America. Played on hard pitches with small-sided teams, Futsal places emphasis on technical skill in restricted spaces.

The ball is smaller and heavier than a normal football, meaning play usually stays on the ground. While many become Futsal specialists, others enjoy playing to improve their technique and control for eleven-a-side football.

It is played over two 20-minute halves, with the timer halted every time the play is stopped, eliminating unnecessary time-wasting by the opponent.

Futsal at Brunel

At Brunel we currently have 3 Men's teams and 1 Women's team.

Each team competes in the BUCS leagues and has an independent coach and training session. All four teams are highly competitive and require commitment and a high work ethic to succeed.

We welcome all players regardless of ability to try out for one of the teams through our trial system. If you are keen to try out the sport but don't feel like joining a team, don't worry, we are now part of the active@brunel programme, which allows you to experience the sport without the competitive edge.

Partnership with Maidenhead Futsal Club

United by Passion, Driven by Excellence

This summer, we have offically partnered with Maidenhead Futsal Club! This is the first offical partnership in Brunel Futsal history ever since this club was first established in 2014!

This collaboartion with a prominent team in the National Futsal Series enables both organisations to strive in promoting and developing Futsal in England.

There will be exciting benefits with this partnerships such as:

• Competitive opportunities for players 
• Facility share
• Coaching opportunites

FIXTURES/COMPETITIONS

When do you meet for matches?:

All games are usually played on weekends.

Home games are played at the Sport Centre. Members of the matchday squad are expected to meet up at the Sport Centre at least two hours before kick off to adequately prepare and warm up for the game.

For away games, transport will usually be provided for games outside of London. Members of the matchday squad are required to make their own way or travel with team to the venue using public transport. Transport costs will be reimbursed by the Union.

TRAINING

Training is essential for any sport to improve individual abilities and build a successful team. Therefore, Brunel Futsal places a lot of emphasis on training perfomance and attendance, as it is required to make the matchday squad.

When do you meet for training?:

Training time differs for all teams.
