DAKSH PARIHAR
Currently on my placement year, pursuing computer science. I am an international student from India. Being exposed to various events as a volunteer, including freshers week, LBIC student ambassador roles and serving as a current student assembly member. The experience and knowledge I gained about students' hyper diversity at Brunel University motivated me to express all voices in the Union.
Now elected, I aim to:
- Provide support for international students that must be readily available to put away any possibility of isolation and alienation among students by regular engagement in the union events.
- Work with other liberation officers to ease the hardship of every student group by actively engaging in their campaigns and contributing to their lead programs.
- Organize international student fairs to bring together students of different nationalities to experience diversity and share customs and beliefs.
- Support for students who are looking for outside accommodation and students who want to move out of the accommodation, development of an information portal. Increase awareness of advice service.
My priority is to spread the message that the university is expanding the horizons of opportunities available to international students. At the same time, we can assist international students with their academic and non-academic queries.
I have the experience of being able to communicate with different people from all over the world. I believe that all international and UK/EU students should be treated equally, so I want to represent equality at this university.
