The Surgical Society at Brunel University London is a student-led society dedicated to inspiring and supporting students with an interest in surgery and surgical careers.
We aim to provide early exposure to surgery, practical insight into the surgical profession, and opportunities to develop clinical, academic, and professional skills in a friendly and inclusive environment. Our events are open to students at all stages, whether you’re certain about surgery or simply curious.
Throughout the year, we host:
Skills workshops (suturing, knot tying, laparoscopic skills)
Talks and Q&A sessions with surgeons and trainees
Exam-focused teaching and revision sessions
Networking events and collaborations with other medical societies
Social events to bring members together
The society focuses on demystifying surgical careers, promoting mentorship, and building confidence in core surgical skills while maintaining a strong social element.
Whether you’re aiming for a future in surgery or just want to gain hands-on experience and meet like-minded students, the Surgical Society offers a supportive platform to learn, connect, and grow.
