Our current response time is maximum 3 working days to respond to an email or voicemail, and 7 working days for response from Senior Advisers.

 

Where to find us

We are in the Hamilton Building, in the very centre of the campus. We are on the ground floor, just behind the Costcutter shop, next to Loco's Bar.

 

Drop In Times

We offer a drop in service every week day from 10am - 12noon, and from 1pm - 3pm.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 12noon till 1pm, Student Union's Officers run "Officers' Surgery" from the ARC. During these times, there will be no Drop In service.

We are closed every 2nd Tuesdays of the month for internal training.

Christmas Closure

Last day of drop-in  service: 10am - 3pm, Tuesday, 19th December.

Last day of email and phone service: Thursday, 21st December.

We will re-open at 10am on Thursday, 04.01.2018

 

Visiting the ARC

When visiting the ARC, to ensure we can deal with your query as promptly as possible, please ensure you bring all of the relevant paperwork concerning your enquiry. Without this information, the ARC Advisors may be unable to deal with your enquiry effectively and may need you to return with the relevant documentation. Thanks!

 

Our staff

The ARC has six members of staff. All Senior Advisors offer general advice, but their specialist areas are as follows.

Joanna Smith, ARC Manager: Joanna is responsible for day to day running of the advice service, briefing the Officers on any emerging trends and assisting them with their policy work. Joanna also specialises in social security benefits casework.

Ingrid Samuels, Senior Advisor: Ingrid specialises in housing and debt matters.  She is also Money Doctors contact (e:moneydoctors@brunel.ac.uk).   Prior to working at the ARC, her career spanned both the public and private sector including corporate and civil litigation.

Ruth Sharma, Senior Advisor: Ruth specialises in academic matters, having previously worked in Higher Education for nine years.

Gosia Pialucha, Senior Adviser: Gosia's expertise is in university procedures and she is a very experienced adviser on issues of student funding.

Ade Bank-Anthony: Ade is one of our first-contact Adviser. She can expertly assess your situation and allocate to an appropriate Senior Adviser or refer to other services.

Sukhi Bhogal:  is also one of our first-contact Adviser. She will register your enquiry and allocate a Senior Adviser who will be able to assist you.
