We’re sad to share that Vishal Parihar, our Education and Welfare Officer for CBASS, has handed in his notice and will be finishing his term at the end of this semester. Vishal is stepping down to return to India to work for his family business— a new adventure where we’re confident he’ll make a big impact—and yes, we’re a little envious of the sunshine he’s heading to!
Vishal has been a huge part of the Union — first as a Student Assembly Member, and in the Societies Guild, and most recently as your Education and Welfare Officer for 2024/25. In all these roles, you’ve trusted him to represent you and to drive positive change, and he’s done exactly that.
Some highlights of Vishal’s work this year include representing you in key University meetings like Senate and Council, always ensuring students' voices were heard and that your experiences were front and centre. He’s built strong relationships across Brunel and left a lasting impact.
Reflecting on his time here, Vishal shared:
"Thank you to all the CBASS students at Brunel for trusting me to represent you. I also want to thank all Brunel students for electing me this year. It’s been an honour, and I’ll miss campus life so much."
If you see Vishal around over the next month, don’t miss the chance to say goodbye, share your thanks, or wish him well.
We’ll be sharing more information soon about how CBASS students will be represented moving forwards. Keep an eye out—we’ll be in touch before term 2 begins.
Thanks for everything, Vishal. You’ll always be part of the Brunel family!
