Could you be one of our our new Student Trustees?

As a Student Trustee you will be an integral part of the Trustee Board for the Union of Brunel Students. The Board of Trustees are our highest governing body and have ultimate responsibility for the governance, financial and strategic direction of the Union of Brunel Students.

This voluntary role will give you a valuable insight into the workings of a charitable organisation along with a significant impact on decisions being made by the Union. You will get the chance to discuss, debate and decide on the strategic direction of the Union and its plans for the future while ensuring it is always acting in the interests of students

We are seeking a Brunel University Student with an enthusiasm for developing student services and student activities, who is able to influence the strategic direction of an organisation and can demonstrate effective leadership qualities. The right candidate will be able to demonstrate honesty, integrity and openness, in addition to commanding confidence, having sound judgement and strong communication skills.

Commitment of Trustees

In the Fulfillment of the role Trustees can expect to:

• Attend at least Five Board of Trustee meetings throughout the academic year and minimum of four Subcommittee meetings.
• Undertake a significant level of reading in preparation for these meetings.
• Complete a comprehensive induction process, including Trustee Training (within six months of appointment).
• Take responsibility for actions, as agreed in discussion with the Trustee board.

Position: Student Trustee

Official Start date: 1st July 2024 (2-year period of office)

Handover period: From the 3rd June 2024, including attendance as an observer at Trustee Board on the 6th June 2024.

Contract: Voluntary, unpaid 

Requirements: You must be a registered student for the forthcoming year to apply for this role.
