What a year it has been.
From cultural celebrations and sporting success to new facilities and major improvements behind the scenes, it’s been a journey full of energy, progress, and unforgettable moments. And honestly, none of this would mean anything without you the students who show up, take part, and make this campus what it is.
Varsity Victory & Sporting Success
Let’s start with one of the biggest highlights we won Varsity. After so long, bringing that win home meant everything. The passion, commitment, and pride shown across all teams was incredible.
A special shoutout to our women’s rugby team for reaching the BSR Milk Championship Cup Final in their very first season – an amazing achievement and something to be truly proud of. Also, huge congratulations to men’s rugby and American football for securing promotion to BSR and the National League. The standard of sport on campus is rising, and it shows.
Introducing Esports to Varsity
This year, we made history by introducing esports to Varsity for the first time. We hosted an exhibition match in Valorant and not only did we compete, we dominated with a 3–0 win.
This is just the beginning for gaming at Brunel. We’re building something big.
The Locos Gaming Corner
To take that further, I’ve worked on creating a brand new space: The Locos Gaming Corner.
Whether you’re into casual gaming or competitive play, you can now enjoy:
- PS5 gaming
- Racing simulator for F1
- A social space to unwind and connect

Baishakhi Mela – Our Biggest Cultural Event Yet
This year, we organised what has been one of the biggest cultural events on campus the Baishakhi Mela this year.
Over 500 participants came together to celebrate with:
- Delicious food
- Vibrant music
- Cultural performances
- Amazing energy all around
If you missed it, you genuinely missed out perfect weather, great vibes, and free food. We’re raising the bar every year, and this was a moment to remember.
Celebrating Holi & Campus Life
From Holi celebrations full of colour and joy to everyday student life on campus, it’s been incredible seeing how engaged and active our community has become. These moments are what make university life special.
Supporting You During Exams
I know exam season can be stressful, so I’ve been working closely with the university to introduce short-term accommodation options for students who need to stay on campus during exams.
This is about making sure you have one less thing to worry about when it matters most.
Big Upgrade: WiFi on Campus
One of the biggest projects I’ve been working on is improving the WiFi experience on campus.
After extensive testing with new providers, I’m excited to share that new WiFi will be launching in halls from Freshers (September). This has been a long time coming, and I know how important it is for all of you.

Re-Election & What’s Next
I’m incredibly grateful to have been re-elected as your Student Activities President.
Thank you to everyone who voted, supported, and believed in what we’re building. A special mention to my campaign team this wouldn’t have been possible without you.
But this isn’t the finish line it’s the start of the next chapter. I’ve already begun working on delivering my new manifesto, and I’m committed to making next year even bigger and better.
This year has shown what we can achieve together. Whether it’s sports, culture, gaming, or improving student life behind the scenes we’re moving forward.
And trust me we’re just getting started.
