After four weeks of conversations, questions, reminders and hundreds of student voices being heard, the result is in.
Brunel students have voted YES.
The Result
YES: 712 VOTES (94%)
NO: 44 VOTES (6%)
Total votes: 756
Thank you to every student who took the time to vote and have their say on the future of student representation at Brunel.
What does this mean?
Over the past three years, many of you told us that the current representation structure did not reflect the diversity of Brunel's student community and that more students should have the opportunity to influence Union decisions.
By voting YES, students have chosen to introduce Brunel 66.
The new structure will:
- Give sports clubs, societies, Student Networks and course reps a direct voice in Union decision-making
- Allow communities to choose their own representatives
- Create a broader and more representative group of students shaping Union decisions
- Introduce councils focused on Education, Student Activities and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
- Create more ways for students to get involved without needing to stand in a campus-wide election
What happens next?
Over the coming months, we’ll begin introducing Brunel 66 and making the changes needed to bring the new structure to life.
We’ll keep you updated throughout the process and share more opportunities for you to get involved.
This decision was made by Brunel students, for Brunel students.
Thank you again to everyone who voted.
We’re excited to start this next chapter together.
