Final year students: complete the NSS

If you’re in your final year, the National Student Survey is now open.

This is your chance to give honest feedback on your time at Brunel University of London. What worked. What didn’t. What needs to be better.

From a Union point of view, this survey really matters.

Why we need you to complete it

When you fill in the NSS, you give us evidence we can use to push the University on the issues that matter to you.

Your responses help us to:

  • Challenge the University on areas that aren’t good enough
  • Back up Course Reps with clear data in meetings
  • Hold senior leaders to account
  • Protect the things that are working well
  • Push for good practice to be rolled out across more courses

The higher the response rate, the stronger our position when we’re sat in those rooms representing you.

If something needs fixing, this is one of the most powerful ways to flag it. If something is genuinely good, we can use that to argue for more of it elsewhere.

Your feedback also shapes the experience for the students who come after you, so your voice has a lasting impact.

How the NSS works

The NSS is independent. It’s overseen by the Office for Students and run by Ipsos MORI.

  • Your responses are confidential
  • The University cannot see your individual answers
  • Results are published nationally

The survey is open from 7 January to 30 April 2026.

Eligible students will receive an email directly from Ipsos MORI inviting them to take part. A small number of students who are not in their final year may also be eligible, so if you get the email, please respond.

What you’ll be asked

There are 25 core questions covering key parts of your academic experience, including:

  • Teaching
  • Assessment and feedback
  • Academic support
  • Organisation and management
  • Student voice

It’s focused and it goes straight to the point.

Prizes

By completing the survey, you’ll be entered into prize draws including:

  • 1 iPad
  • 2 Sonos speakers
  • 2 DJI gimbals
  • 10 £50 Amazon vouchers
  • 2 graduation packages including VIP tickets, photography and gown hire

If you’ve ever thought ‘this could be better’, this is the way to say it in a way that actually carries weight.
