The University is beginning a review of its trans-related policies, and the Union will be working closely with university staff to ensure that any changes are informed, inclusive, and shaped by the voices of trans students. We are all very aware that the Supreme Court ruling may already be affecting students’ lives, and we want to make sure Brunel responds in a way that truly supports its trans community.
To do this, we’re helping the University set up a working group with staff who are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. But most importantly, we want to ensure students are meaningfully involved in this work.
If you’re part of the trans community at Brunel and feel comfortable sharing your experiences or views, we’d really like to hear from you. You don’t need to commit to joining the working group (unless you want to!) – we can be flexible in how you get involved, whether that’s giving feedback on proposals, speaking to us one-to-one, or just staying in the loop.
Your insight will be vital in helping us understand what’s needed and in making sure the final policies genuinely support the students they’re designed to represent.
