London Nightline is looking for helpline volunteers!

Nightline is an information and listening service run by students, for students. Volunteers are trained in non-judgmental, non-directive, and active listening skills, as well as responding to discussions of mental health. We’re looking for empathetic volunteers who are comfortable engaging with difficult topics, and want to support other students. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to develop their communication skills for personal growth or career-based progression. Students studying medicine, social work, and psychology-related subjects often find this role very rewarding.

Volunteering with London Nightline is a great way to meet likeminded students from universities across London, with plenty of opportunities to join socials, including pub trips and scavenger hunts. We even have a weekend away together each year!

Training takes place over 3 sessions throughout February (1st, 2nd, and 8th). Once trained, volunteers are encouraged to take 3-4 shifts per term, the stages of which are entirely flexible. Shifts take place overnight (6pm-8am); volunteers sleep on shift, as the office has a bedroom, bathroom (with bath and shower), and fully equipped and stocked kitchen.

Further details along with the application form can be found on our website or email Eve, the Coordinator, london@nightline.org.uk for more information. The deadline to apply is the 30th of January.
