As we approach the end of the year, we want to let all students know that the Union of Brunel Students will be closing for the winter break in line with the university’s closure dates. Our last day open will be Friday, 20th December, and we will reopen on Friday, 3rd January.

During this time, all Union services and facilities will be unavailable, so please make any necessary arrangements ahead of the closure. If you have any urgent queries, we recommend reaching out to us before 20th December to ensure we can assist you.

As we reach mid-season, seven teams, including Men's Basketball 1, Women's Volleyball 1, Men's Football 4, Women's Lacrosse 1, Men's and Women's Rugby Union 1, and American Football, are leading their respective league tables, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and commitment. Additionally, Men's Volleyball 1 and Women's Rugby Union 2 remain unbeaten, poised to reach the top as the season progresses.

On Tuesday, the Sylheti society hosted an amazing fundraiser sale, raising over £600 for Islamic Relief! This year, the committee has shown exceptional engagement, having organised a successful freshers stall and meet and greet earlier in the year. The proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to support aid efforts in Palestine, highlighting the societies' giving nature and community involvement.

In an impressive show of solidarity and dedication to men's health, the Rugby League team has raised an astounding £1810 for Movember. Their fundraising efforts exemplify their commitment to the cause and highlight the strength of community and teamwork in making a meaningful impact. Kudos to the team for their hard work and passion!

We're saddened to announce that Vishal Parihar, our dedicated Education and Welfare Officer for CBASS, will be stepping down at the end of this semester to return to India and work for his family business. Vishal has made significant contributions to our Union, from his early days as a Student Assembly Member to his impactful role as Education and Welfare Officer this year, where he has consistently championed student voices and built strong relationships across Brunel. As he embarks on his new adventure, we wish him all the best and thank him for his exceptional service.
