ACS hosts successful OneBrunel event

Thursday was Ghanaian Independance day and ACS marked by hosting a daytime immersive event where student attending could listen to a speaker from ghana, eat traditional food, admire dancers and participate in a drumming session. This event was a great success with students from the society and externally participating in this culture exchange. They finished the day-off with a dedicated Afrobashment event in The Venue.

It's great to see societies actively engaging in our OneBrunel campaign! With OneBrunel having more events planned for the coming weeks why not check it them out?

Women's Hockey secure the cup for Brunel

In a thrilling showdown at the BUCS South Eastern Conference Finals, the Brunel Women’s 1s pulled off a stunning victory against the formidable Essex Women’s 1s, who are a tier above them. With an early goal and some nail-biting drama, including a disallowed goal and a last-minute equalizer from Essex, the match was a rollercoaster of emotions. It all boiled down to the penalty shootout, where Brunel held their nerve and clinched the win. Throughout their cup campaign, the team beat several tier-above rivals to reach the finals. Historically, this cup is usually won by teams moving up from tier two to tier one. For a tier three team to make it all the way and win is monumental. Let’s give a massive shoutout to Brunel Hockey for their hard work, determination, and an unforgettable season!

Reps advocating for students

A huge congratulations to Jey Blum for winning Senior Rep of the Month (February) and Cameron Young for winning Course Rep of the Month (February)! Jey has been a dedicated advocate, meeting with department heads to discuss the impact of recent redundancies on student support and ensuring concerns were heard at Board of Studies meetings. They also presented valuable module feedback and provided direct support to students. Cameron successfully lobbied for an extension to the final year project deadline to fairly reflect the new semester system and winter exams. He also raised concerns about a lack of equipment for an assessment, ensuring students without equipment were not unfairly marked.
