Something BIG is coming...the Referendum!

We're proposing changes to how students are represented at Brunel. The proposed structure, Brunel66, would replace Student Assembly. It would be the Union's main representative body. It would help shape Union priorities, scrutinise decision-making and ensure student voices are heard.

More importantly, it would ensure that students from all communities would be represented, including sports, societies, student networks, and academic structures. This is an improvement to our current Student Assembly system, which does not guarantee the same breadth of inclusion.

The proposed structure has been developed in response to feedback from Brunel students about how representation works and how student voices can have a greater impact on decision-making.

Voting will run from 15th June at 10am, until 10th July at 5pm. Read more about our referendum.

Vote in the Student Trustee Elections

Brunel students will be able to vote in the Student Trustee election this weekend, the 6th and 7th of June, and help decide who represents student interests at the highest level of the Union.

The Trustee Board oversees the Union’s finances, governance and long-term strategy. It ensures the organisation is well run, financially sustainable and always acting in the best interests of students.

Student Trustees play a vital role on the Board. They sit alongside Independent Trustees and make sure the student voice is heard when key decisions are made about the future of the Union.

Students have applied to become your Student Trustee - now it’s your turn to decide who represents you: meet the candidates.

This September: Join the 'Freshers Crew'!

Freshers week is a busy one, and we need all the help we can get! Freshers Crew members are the friendly faces that help new students feel welcome, make friends, and find their place at Brunel.

This isn't a role where you'll stand behind a stall handing out flyers. It's about being approachable, inclusive, and helping students feel like they belong from day one.

Find out more about the role, and your PERKS...
