Help Fix the Student Loan System - Have Your Say

On March 11th, our student representatives joined students' unions from across the country in Westminster for the 'NUS National Lobby Day: Don’t Freeze Our Futures'.

They met with MPs to talk about the real financial pressures students are dealing with right now, and why the current student loan system is not working well enough. The campaigning has led to the new Select Committee inquiry into student loans - which means students now have a real chance to help influence what happens next.

Have your say, and have it now!

Sports Round-up

Brunel climb the ranks...

American Football
American Football capped off an incredible season by securing back-to-back unbeaten campaigns and consecutive promotions. They will now compete in the National Premier Division for the first time. An outstanding achievement for both players and coaching staff. They sealed their latest success with a commanding 20–6 victory over league rivals SGS, controlling the game throughout and never coming under serious pressure.

Rugby Union
The Men’s 1s delivered a statement performance ahead of their BUCS Super Rugby playoff, defeating fierce rivals Newcastle 61–0 in Loughborough. While an impressive result in its own right, the focus now shifts to the decisive playoff fixture.

They will travel to Newcastle on 1st April, where the winner will earn automatic promotion to BUCS Super Rugby. This marks the fourth consecutive year these two sides have met with promotion on the line, but this year carries extra significance, as the winner goes straight up rather than facing a further playoff against the bottom Super Rugby side.

The Women’s 1s have also finished their season strongly, securing impressive cup victories over powerhouse sides Loughborough and Cardiff Met. Their performances have earned them a place in the cup semi-final, where they will face Hartpury, the only team they have yet to overcome this season.
