Women shaping a sustainable future - let's make it happen!

What does leadership look like at Brunel and how are women shaping the University’s future? Let's find out, at next weeks 'Panel Conversation on Women Shaping a Sustainable Future'.

This event will be from 5pm-7:30pm on the 19th March, in the Howell Theatre. Together, we’ll explore leadership journeys, overcoming barriers, and how women are building sustainable futures — financially, culturally, and structurally — across the University.

Senior Rep/Academic Course Rep of the Month.

A huge congratulations to Luke John Rogers, and Subham Shashikant, our Academic Course Rep and Senior Rep of February respectively!

Subham raised several issues affecting his cohort, including concerns about the ESGW Auditorium being unsuitable for note-taking during EC2616 Monetary Economics lectures due to the small desks, and intensive timetabling with 9am–6pm teaching days that led some students to leave early during the winter months. In addition, Subham supported the other BBS Senior Academic Reps in hosting an academic social for their cohort. And that wasn't all!

Luke addressed concerns raised by students on the Cybersecurity module regarding a lack of feedback before coursework deadlines. After speaking with peers, he organised study pairs and worked with GTAs during lab sessions so students could receive informal guidance on their work. He also raised concerns about lectures being rushed towards the end, which had led to lab time being used to clarify lecture content and reduced time for practical activities.
