Some of the Brunel First Aid Society members on duty with St John Ambulance

Eleven volunteers from Brunel LINKS First Aid Society attended the Royal Parks Half Marathon to provide First Aid cover with St John Ambulance.

Despite the rain and cold, volunteers from the society provided members across two treatment centres along the 13.1-mile route through Hyde Park, Green Park and St James's Park from 8am until around 2pm, after the majority of the runners had past the first aid post.

Volunteering at events like these is a regular occurance for our operational St John Ambulance volunteers - over the past 12 months, we have sent our members to high profile events throughout the London & South region, including the London Marathon, World Athletics Championships, Proms in the Park, the Wimbledon Championships, and much more.

For more information on the society, feel free to drop into LECT 005 on a Monday evening from 6:30pm, or send an email to brunel@sja.org.uk!
