Dressed in her red gown and chains, the Mayor of Hillingdon cut the red ribbon at the Union of Brunel Students’ Freshers’ Fayre
Dressed in her red gown and chains, the Mayor of Hillingdon cut the red ribbon at the Union of Brunel Students’ Freshers’ Fayre to open the Indoor Athletics Centre (IAC), just after she gave a short speech to the students outside queuing about the importance of extra-curricular activities – but not at the sake of academic success.
As we walked around the IAC, the Mayor was taking a keen interest in the wide range of stalls that were on display, including our very own clubs and societies. From the stall promoting sexual health, to the numerous sports clubs who tried to entice her in – the Mayor went away from the Fayre with a bag full of freebies!
Every year the Mayor is invited to open our Freshers’ Fayre and represents the London Borough of Hillingdon by welcoming the students to participate in all that the University, the Union, and the community offers.
