On Sunday, as thousands of bright eyed Brunel Freshers’ were moving into their new homes, we had five local Councillors volunteer to lend a hand on one of the busiest days of the academic year.
Hillingdon Councillors Judith and George Cooper, June Nelson, Beulah East, and Peter Money visited the campus on a breezy Sunday to make sure that their new Hillingdon residents felt welcomed to the community. From giving directions to physically helping students move in their worldly possessions, the Councillors help was much appreciated.
The Councillors also praised the Union of Brunel Students on how welcoming the Contacts were around campus.
This year The Union is placing a large emphasis on Brunel in the Community, and bringing some Councillors onto campus to get involved with the day is just the start of our community engagement project.
If you’d like to invite any of the Councillors, or the Mayor of Hillingdon, to an event you’re running – you can contact our Community Development Coordinator, Kerri Prince on firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
