Why become a Nightline Ambassador?

Becoming a Nightline Ambassador is a great opportunity for any student passionate about promoting mental health and support, not to mention the valuable CV experience for anyone considering careers in business, event management, PR or marketing!

About Nightline

Established in 1971, London Nightline is a registered charity offering listening, support and information to higher education students by way of a confidential helpline. Open between 6pm and 8am every night of term, and run almost entirely by students, Nightline is able to provide crucial out-of-hours peer to peer support via telephone, Skype, email and instant messaging services.

Nightline provide an impartial, non-judgmental and empathetic ear for students to talk about whatever is on their minds. Sometimes people just need the opportunity to talk things through, to work out how they feel and what they really want, and at Nightline we aim to help our callers do just that.

Students can also contact us for information about life in London ranging from details of STI clinics to the location of the nearest takeaway after a night out! Moving to a city like London for the first time can be a daunting experience, which is why we hope our information service will make the process a little easier.

The Role of Ambassador will entail the following:

  • The organisation of 2 small events at Brunel per term
  •  To attend a summit once per term, where ideas will be shared and awards given for the best events.
  • Nightline ask that Ambassadors commit to 1 academic year (i.e. until the end of June 2014), with potential to extend the appointment into the following year
  • You will be provided with a small budget for event planning - Nightline will support you in generating ideas, planning and staffing your events
  • No prior experience is necessary – training will be provided!
