Getting involved with the Union is the easiest way to make a positive impact for your fellow students. The Union has been instrumental in:

  • The creation of the Green Gym on campus, an accessible, modern space to stay fit
  • The introduction of a 24 hour library
  • Leading Personal and Professional Development through our “All about you” workshops

As a member-led organisation, we’re run by students, for students. That means that everything we do, we do it for you.

There are a range of different roles and opportunities here for you to get involved with. You will learn new applicable skills, and be making a difference to Brunel University London Students.

The roles up for election are

Student Representatives

Student Reps are elected by you to represent your views and push for change that will improve your academic course at Brunel. They can help with you with improving your academic experience on your modules, your course, and your department. They can also help resolve any other problems you may have. We have both Course reps and Department reps, with Department Reps looking out for all the courses in your department.

You can find out more here and nominate yourself.

Halls Representatives

Each Hall at Brunel is different, and each has its own unique community. This summer, we have looked into the experience of students in halls and created a network of Halls Committees. These committees have a broad scope of activity and by becoming part of your Halls committee you will:

  • Organise socials and events.
  • Make proposals for the spending of £500,000 for hall improvements
  • Lead the way for your hall to win points in our Halls Points scheme, with prizes to win
  • Run monthly Halls Forums with your other Reps to find out about the experiences of fellow residents.

If you choose to run to become a Halls Rep, the Union will help you every step of the way - we’ll also give you plenty of training and personal development opportunities.
