Ways to remember Dr Sandra Naylor

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr Sandra Naylor, Deputy Dean – Academic Affairs in the College of Health and Life Sciences (CHLS).?

Many of you will have already heard that Sandra lost her battle with cancer and died just before Christmas.

She will be profoundly missed by colleagues, students and beyond and our thoughts are with her family and many friends at this most difficult time.

Sandra’s funeral will take place on Thursday 16 January at 2pm in Ruislip. The address is Breakspear Crematorium, Breakspear Road, Ruislip HA4 7SJ.  Parking is available (up to 150 spaces).  The nearest underground station is Ruislip which is served by both the Metropolitan and Piccadilly Lines. The following buses are available at the bus station at the entrance to Ruislip Underground Station and stop close to the crematorium: H13 (Bury Street),  331 (stops by the entrance).?

Sandra was known to colleagues by her maiden name so for those attending the funeral, please be aware that the service will be for Sandra Gyetvai.

It was Sandra’s wish for donations to be made to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in her memory.  The family has set up a Just Giving page here.  Alternatively, cheques can be sent to the funeral directors (W. Sherry & Sons, 4 Long Lane, Ickenham, Uxbridge UB10 8TB).

We will publish a tribute to Sandra on the intranet shortly. Anyone wishing to send their condolences can contact Professor Paul Hellewell, Vice Provost and Dean for CHLS. There will also be a Book of Condolences available soon.
