Initially established as a club to develop a fitness community on campus, calisthenics club is now one of the largest clubs on campus, with 191 dedicated members who train multiple times a week, at the crack of dawn, demonstrating their passion for their sport.
Having grown from a small club 5 years ago to the community they are today, they were in need of some more permanent equipment. Setting out on a crowdfunding campaign to fund the purchase and installation of some outdoor gym equipment on campus, including parallel bars and push up bars, the team raised a total of £2300. Following negotiations with the university, and some challenges with the weather, the bars are now installed on campus. The bars are situated near the Crank Gardens, meaning they are easily accessible for students looking to incorporate fitness into their daily routine.
