Brunel Fencing welcomes beginners and advanced level fencers, whether you are here to try it out for the first time or you’ve been fencing for years and years. You’re welcome to come along and join us.
We cater for all three weapons (foil, epee and sabre) which anyone can try out so you can find out which weapon is best suited to you. For those looking for a different way to stay active, Fencing is an excellent sport to improve lower body strength and speed as well as hand eye coordination. All necessary kit is provided, so just come along!
We also take part in multiple external competitions. One of the most important is the BUCS league which we currently have one Men’s Team and hoping to form a Women’s team in the near future. There are many Individual competitions such as Challenge X-SYSTRA in Paris, BUCS Individuals in Sheffield and many Novice Competitions. So there is bound to be something for everyone.
Apart from all the fencing, we try to be a social club. We have regular socials, which include going to the pub, Locos or going for a night out. Towards the end of the year we hold our own Award Evening to award those who have improved and stood out during the year. So there’s always something to look forward to!
