The Latin American Society focuses on bringing Latin American students together as well as share our cultures with other international and home students.
We founded the Latin American Society because we want to create a space to share the best of our own Latin American cultures with other international and home students. We want to feel connected, break stereotypes and build useful networks.
Our society’s aim is to create a space to talk more about our roots and traditions as well as to invite others to learn more about Latin America in general. Moreover, the society acts as a support space to other international students coming to study at Brunel. We plan on organising cultural talks, movie nights showing films from Latin American directors and producers, cooking gatherings to cook traditional Latin food, celebrate each country’s independence day and take that as a chance to talk about the history behind it. We want to highlight the best of Latin American literature, music, art, cuisine and much more!
We also want to establish a network between Brunel University and Latin American companies and governments. Thus, we want to build a network of useful contacts for all Brunel students willing to go to Latin America to do internships, placements or participate in exchange programmes.
