Our Green Impact (GISU) campaign is a programme we are participating in as a Student Union to betting our sustainability practices. This programme is run by SOS and is designed to help unions run effective projects and campaigns, using the power of the student movement to create lasting change.
Our involvement goes beyond simply planting trees or excelling in recycling efforts. In utilizing this framework, our Student Union engages in impactful initiatives and campaigns, addressing issues such as climate justice, equality, curriculum reform, and health and wellbeing.
Through this program, we not only have the chance to collaborate with other Unions but also to form partnerships and networks, sharing best practices through resources and case studies. Our ultimate aim is to ensure that students graduate from higher education well-prepared to tackle global challenges. Students’ Unions play a pivotal role in helping students acquire the necessary skills, knowledge, and experiences for this purpose.
The Green Impact toolkit serves as our guide, allowing Union staff, Officers, and students to collectively address critical issues. By taking a lead in integrating sustainability and social justice across campus, the curriculum, and society at large, we contribute to creating a positive impact on our educational environment and beyond.
This campaign is run by a combination of full-time union staff members, student officers and the environemental society.
