What is Disability History Month?
Disability History Month is a legacy campaign run by our Disabled Students' Officer. UK Disability History Month (UKDHM) is an annual event that takes place from 16th November - 16th December. It's a time to reflect on the history of disabled people's struggles for equality and human rights, celebrate their achievements, and raise awareness about current issues. Each year, UKDHM focuses on a specific theme to explore further. In 2024, the theme was "Disability, Livelihood, and Employment", highlighting the importance of access to work and economic independence for disabled people.
