    Improve Wifi in Halls

    Current
    • Halls
WIFI in my room on campus is shocking, unreliable and very hit and miss. Having spoken to other students on campus, the problem is much bigger than just me. I pay a substantial amount of money for my room and expect to have WIFI that works for me - this is a basic need that is not being fulfilled - what am I paying for? If you also struggle with connection, please comment on this idea with the Halls you are in and the problems you have with WIFI on campus.

11:56am on 14 Oct 25 I agree. The other day I had to sit outside the Isambard studio to attend my interview. the connectivity in the halls/rooms is just beyond worse. Paying 900£ a month just to be embarrassed in front of the employers and having below the standard facilities around the campus/halls.

12:23pm on 14 Oct 25 Thanks for your feedback Himanchi. So the issues you have had are in Isambard Studio? are there any other places on campus you struggle with connectivity?
Vriti Vora
1:44pm on 14 Oct 25 Agreed. The connectivity is worsening day by day. At this point our laptops and iPads are working on our personal phone's data, which is proving to be quite expensive, after paying £1000 per month for the same facilities.

2:37pm on 14 Oct 25 Hi Vriti, where on campus do you have the issue with Wifi, in Halls? if so, which Halls? Thanks for your input!

11:42am on 15 Oct 25 I completely agree; it’s the same in Galbraith hall. The WiFi drops out all the time and is really slow. It’s really frustrating when trying to study or stream lectures.

5:34pm on 15 Oct 25 Hi, Ruth. The Issues are all over the Campus, accommodation complexes specially. In the middle of the lectures I've lost track of my notes.

9:21pm on 16 Oct 25 I do support this because not only I, but my classmates have also experienced issues with the wifi. It keeps disconnecting, and when it does work, it's very slow making it difficult to study. There are problems with the wifi not only in buildings such as the lecture centre or bannerman centre but also in accomodations halls such as Stockwell hall (Lancaster Complex). I hope this can be sorted out as soon as possible as some of us do rely on internet heavily especially when taking notes.

11:31am on 17 Oct 25 The Chief Executive and Presidents will be taking this issue to an operations meeting next week (23rd) and will take all of the feedback we have had to get this pushed to the top of their agenda. We will keep you updated.
