    24 hours library (off-term times)

For better student equity, the library should be open 24/7, 365 days a year. This is essential for January starters who have to study during term breaks and would give all students the flexibility they need to succeed.

6:04pm on 8 Oct 25 I think we can all agree that we all want students to thrive at Brunel! 24/7 access outside term time sounds like a great idea especially for those that live on campus :)

11:50am on 14 Oct 25 I agree. Off term-time library should stay open 24/7 as well. It helps in studying and focusing better on my upcoming coursework/exams. sometimes offline resources help me grasp the content better rather the online sources on library website.

12:53am on 23 Oct 25 I agree! Some students work nights during holidays and will study overnight on their days off. 24/7 library hours all year round would be helpful.

1:03pm on 20 Nov 25 Hi, I enquired about this idea and the response was: "Library Opening Hours • Term time: The library building is open 24/7, Monday to Sunday. The Help Desk operates from 9am–7pm, after which the building is overseen by the library security team. • Vacation periods: The library is open 8:30am–7pm, Monday to Friday, and 12pm–7pm at weekends. Given the current financial climate, it is unfortunately not viable for us to extend vacation opening hours beyond the schedule outlined above without reducing our term time opening hours." Do you think students would prefer reduced hours during term time to accommodate longer opening hours out of term time? Thanks
