Would love there to be a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club/society. It’s a sport I love and I know it’s growing rapidly, the judo society no longer exists and it could cover both I think, as it came from judo in the first place.

Hi Caspar, Joining a sports club or society is a great way to make friends and to develop your campus social life, alongside your studies. With over 100 sports clubs and societies, we have lots for you to get involved in, but if you have an idea for a new one, we are happy to help you set it up. There are a few things to do before you submit an application: Check that a similar club or society doesn’t already exist – we don’t support multiple societies/clubs with the same aim. Find a few people who are also interested in starting this with you Decide amongst the interested who would like to form the provisional committee holding the Chair, Treasurer and Secretary positions. Collect the names and emails of at least 15 students who would like to join (this is a minimum requirement to start a new club or society as we need to make sure that there is a demand from students) Once you have completed the above, you are ready for submit the application to form a new group. The form can be found here: https://brunelstudents.com/activities/newcluborsoc/

All students are able to create their own society, talk to your friends and course colleagues and see if they are interested in your idea, also check to see if the society already exists: https://brunelstudents.com/activities/societies/
