iWAN pARRY

I’m Iwan Parry, a second-year Politics BSC (Hons) student from Southport, Merseyside, and I am honored to serve as your Brunel Home Students Officer. This role is about reflecting our common values, shared ambitions, and the concerns of every member of our diverse and brilliant university.

As your officer, I pledge to be transparent, accountable, and accessible. I will always act on what I believe is right and be an unwavering ally for our Transgender Community. I am committed to fighting for a cleaner, greener, and fairer university, sustainable in all aspects of student life. Alongside a dedicated Student Assembly, I will work towards a fairer university where every student has equal access to resources, opportunities, and support.

Bold solutions are needed to benefit our student community, especially in addressing the cost of living. I will lobby tirelessly to make our printing services free of charge and push for more initiatives like the £50 credits given to students earlier this year. These measures show that real, impactful changes can be made to help students where it matters most.

My experience includes volunteering at soup kitchens, tutoring adults with SEND, and organizing within politics for nearly five years. These experiences have taught me the importance of persistence, listening, and leadership.

I believe Locos, our student social hub, deserves more vegan options to support students’ personal choices and our sustainability goals. We can be a more tolerant, sustainable university that supports students during financial stresses.
