Education & Outcomes Council

The Education & Outcomes Council is where students come together to work on the academic experience at Brunel. It brings together students from across the University to identify issues, discuss solutions and work with the Union on improvements that benefit students academically.

What is the Education & Outcomes Council?

The Education & Outcomes Council focuses on the student academic experience. It brings together students from across the University to identify issues, discuss solutions and work with the Union on the changes that matter.

Leadership

The Council meets at least once per Semester and is chaired by the Education President, with support from the Co-Vice Chairs: the UG Volunteer Facilitator and PG Volunteer Facilitator.

What does the Council focus on?

The Education & Outcomes Council debates and works on policy and campaigns covering your academic journey and post-degree opportunities, including:

Covering how students are assessed and the feedback they receive.

Covering the support available to students throughout their studies.

Who sits on the Education & Outcomes Council?

The Education & Outcomes Council has 22 members representing students across every College at Brunel.

Senior Academic Reps

12 Senior Academic Reps sit on the Council: 3 from BBS, 3 from CALSS, 3 from CEDPS, 2 from CHMLS and 1 from BMS.

3 Academic Course Reps are appointed to ensure wider student views are represented.

Postgraduate & Pathway Reps

1 Postgraduate Research Rep and 1 Brunel Pathway College Rep also sit on the Council.

Volunteer Facilitator Roles

The Council has two Volunteer Facilitator roles: the UG Volunteer Facilitator and the PG Volunteer Facilitator. Both are Co-Vice Chairs of the Education & Outcomes Council and work with the Education President and the Student Voice team.

What does the role involve?

The role supports the running of the Council - helping with agendas, minutes and the day-to-day organisation of meetings, alongside representing undergraduate or postgraduate academic issues.
