How to enter Competitions and Events

How to Enter External and BUCS/LUSL Leagues, Knockouts, Tournaments and Events

Step 1: Team Entry Timeline

In April, club committees (both current and new) get an email asking how many teams they want to enter
The deadline to enter is in May
All teams are automatically entered into BUCS Knockout competitions
- If you do not want to take part in Knockouts, email the Sports Development Coordinator
If you want to enter more teams than first planned, speak to the Sports Development Coordinator

Step 2: Team Registration

The Sports Development Coordinator will register all teams on BUCS Play before the deadline

Step 3: Late Entries
If you miss the deadline, there is an extra fee:

When you enter	Extra cost per team
10 May – 27 June	£10
28 June – 29 September	£25

Step 4: Withdrawing a Team

You can withdraw a team during the season if you cannot fill the squad. Full rules are here
If a team gives a walkover in the first 2 weeks, the Sports Development Coordinator will remove them from the league.

Step 1: Find the Event
Go to the BUCS events page to choose your event

Step 2: For Individual Events

We will only approve a maximum of 2 males and 2 females for each event discipline

Step 3: For Team Events

Email the Sports Development Coordinator to say how many teams you want to enter
The Sports Development Coordinator will enter the teams on BUCS Play
Each player must apply to join the team on the BUCS Play app – see the guide here

Step 4: Budget and Membership Rules

Step 1: Email the Sports Development Coordinator

Your entry must be within your club’s budget for the year

Step 3: Facility Space

We will then check that we have access to the facilities to accomodate the entry and if so, we will go ahead and make the entry on your behalf.
