Societies Guild Committee
What:
- A decision-making group made up of 6 elected students, the Societies Coordinator (Secretary), and the Community Living Officer.
Why:
- To oversee and make decisions on society-related matters such as:
- New society applications
- In-year funding requests
- Society-wide policies
- Issues raised by members, committees, or external parties
How:
- The Societies Coordinator provides agendas and takes minutes.
- Decisions are made through discussion and voting.
Who:
- Elected student representatives, Societies Coordinator, and Community Living Officer.
- To raise an issue, email the Societies Coordinator.

Team Brunel Committee
What:
The Team Brunel Committee is an elected body made up of Union Sport Members. It oversees the development, governance, and support of sports clubs at Brunel University. It handles club approvals, funding decisions, disciplinary matters, and ensures clubs operate within Union policies.
Why:
The committee exists to:

Ensure fair and consistent oversight of sports clubs.

Support the growth and development of new and existing clubs.

Maintain standards and compliance with Union policies.

Provide a democratic and student-led decision-making process for club-related matters.
How:
The committee functions through:

Fortnightly meetings during term time.

Quorum rules (at least 50%+1 of elected members must be present).

Decision-making by majority vote, with the Chair holding a casting vote if needed.

Reviewing applications for new clubs, funding requests, complaints, and CASES submissions.

Using a standard agenda: Apologies, Minutes, Reports, Matters Arising, Standing Items.

Clerked by the Student Activities Coordinator, who also communicates decisions and next steps.
